OK. So its cold (icy), wet (two river crossings), and muddy (a 25mtr mud bath and a couple of mud filled trenches to jump). It shouldn’t be fun.
But it is!
Once again, RntS put up a good showing at the Reepham Cross Country today. The first frosty and icy day of the year typically! It’s surprising how many comments were made about us running in white tops (although they weren’t when we finished).
Definitely an event worth doing. A very friendly event, well organised and a good laugh. In fact, Lorraine said that even she would consider doing it next year!
Thank you to the hardy support team who cheered us on whilst standing in the cold.

Thetford Cross Country. Perfect weather for racing today and a challenging course. Very little flat, it all seemed to be up or down, with mole hills, on firm ground. Marshals were excellent with encouragement at every turn. There was a good turnout of runners but the field soon became spread out so there were no bottlenecks or hold ups. RntS members enjoyed the event and Amanda our Captain was pleased with our efforts.

AGM Meeting Announcement- 30th January 2020 (members only)
Our annual general meeting will be on 30th Jan at 7pm at the Gordon Barrett Memorial Hall in Wells (same place as last year).
There’ll be a formal meeting to begin (we’ll keep this as brief as possible) and then food, music, a quiz and raffle.
At the end of the formal section of the meeting, all the committee must stand down from their posts and be re-elected if they wish to. If any member is interested in becoming a member of the committee please click on the following link to see a description of the roles
https://www.rnts.co.uk/committee-roles/
As the club has expanded significantly since last year, we have added a new role of events coordinator which we are looking to fill. This is someone who can help coordinate social and running events in the future, together with volunteers and you wouldn’t need to be on the committee for this! We’re also asking for friends of the committee, people who are willing to volunteer to help with future events.
This year, for the first time we are asking members for their nominations for an award we are giving to the ‘runners runner of the year’. This is for someone in the club who you feel is perhaps the most inspirational or supportive or helpful throughout the year or has been a great example of the clubs ethos. Can you personal message me with your nominations by middle of January please?
As you guys are so generous and we had an overwhelming response last year with gifts for the raffle, we are asking for food bank donations which will be given to St Nicholas church in Wells for distribution to food banks in Fakenham and Cromer. We are still having a raffle but Angie Barker has kindly offered to organise prizes for this, if you’d still like to give something for this please liaise with her.
Allison and I will coordinate food contributions for the meeting. We’ll put a separate post on here about this and to ask for help – thank you!
Thanks everyone for helping make 2019 a great year for the club and look forward to seeing you at the meeting and in 2020. Happy new year ?
