RntS 5K Track Challenge at Lynnsport

What a fantastic evening and turnout for the 5K track challenge (maybe the first of many?). Over 40 club members attended with 38 running.

Conditions were spot-on, very little wind, not too hot (although it did warm up when the sun came through) and dry. Two groups of runners set off at different times for what, to many of us, seemed a quite intimidating event!

In the end, I found that the time just vanished and it was over before you knew it.

Amazingly, in an open space, GPS seemed a little bit erratic with some GPS trackings finishing at before 5K, with others way past it. But, thanks to working a buddy system where another runner counted your laps, we all know that we did 5K (AKA 12.5 laps!).

Very enjoyable in the end and a good show from everyone with a number of fastest 5Ks in the bag!

Virgin Money London Marathon

I don’t think there’s anything more to be said than Kevin said this morning:

Ceridwen Howell making history for our Club today. First RntS to run the London Marathon on an EA Club ticket. All the very best to you Ceri. Enjoy, have fun and we are all thinking of you. No pressure! And I do mean that, there is no pressure, just enjoy the experience. “

Well done Ceri. You’ve made us all extremely proud.

Active Fakenham Easter Town Centre 5K

A fantastic turnout for the Active Fakenham Easter Town Centre 5K today. Probably the warmest running day of the year so far!

( I really wish I’d have been running it (or do I?)).

Great to see so many RntS in attendance, not only running but also supporting.

Top cheering led once again by Stu, and thanks to my chauffeur for the lift home. ?

Also, stay tuned for the club interview, hosted by Angie….[link to follow]

The first of the Trilogy of Terror (or should that be the Triumvirate of Triumph?).

Staying on the new North Drive to MP4 course, the first of the 2019 Handicap runs caught many of us by surprise this Monday…..

Couch to 5k 2019!

This Spring/early Summer, Runners-next-the-Sea will again be hosting a Couch to 5k course at the Alderman Peel High School.

The course will be about an hour long and will run on Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm. The course will finish with a 5k graduation run at Holkham parkrun.

The dates are:
Thursday 23rd May, 30th May, 6th June, 13th June, 20th June, 27th June, 4th July, 11th July with the parkrun graduation on Saturday 13th July.

The cost for this is £25.00 which will cover the 8 week course and also, for those that graduate, unaffiliated membership of RntS until the end of January 2020 (allowing graduates to take part if regular RntS weekly training sessions).

Members of RntS are welcome to join in and support this in any way possible and to also spread the word!

Posters are available to download from our Members & Downloads page.

The Facebook group for members of the course (and also helpers) is still at the same place – https://www.facebook.com/groups/RunnersNTSC25k/

RntS 2019 Membership

Well! It’s flown by but RntS, as an affiliated club, is officially a year old!

That means that if you’re a member, your membership expires at the end of this month, and if you’re not a member and you want to join, now is the time!

The form for membership application (whether you’re a new member or renewing) can be found here: Members & Downloads

You’ll also find a copy of our club constitution there too.

If you have any questions, please ask a member of the committee who will be pleased to help.

RntS AGM++ – 10 January 2019

Our first AGM as an EA Affiliated Running Club will take place on Thursday 10th January at 7pm in the Gordon Barret Memorial Hall, Clubbs Lane, Wells-next-the-Sea.
