Description

Lynne Sport Track Session: 2nd April at 7:00pm.

Running on an athletics track is a very different experience when compared to our normal activities, although there are many track events which members could compete, 800m, 1200m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m and 10,000m.  These are all considered endurance events, which are suitable for RntS members.

To give us experience of running on an athletics track we have booked the track at Lynne Sport on Wednesday 2nd April at 7pm.

This session will involve a technical introduction to track running lead by Chris Palmer our very own international age grade champion on the track, who will help us understand things like lane etiquette, running bends, pacing and strategy, together with a classic track session to give us some practical experience.

This will be followed by an invitation to attendees to experience a 400m event.  This will be a “self timed” time trial and run for fun.  We will seed each event so members will be running with equally paced individuals.

Following this members will be invited to take part in either an 800m or a 1500m event. Again, not a race but a “self timed” time trial allowing members to experience the distance.

This will be a fun evening of running.  As much a social event as a training session.  If you don’t want to run why not come along and support those that are taking part.

This is free to club members, but booking is essential so we can plan.
